Ledge Mountain Pool Deck

As soon as these homeowners bought this home in West Austin, they knew there was work to be done. The house had been on the market for quite some time, and needed serious renovating. One of the main priorities was the deck around the pool, which was an old treated pine deck that had been warped, cupped, etc., and has become unsafe to simply walk on. The homeowners did their research on decking products and hired Centex Decks as the builder. While researching, the homeowners ran across a new product on the market known as Kebony. Kebony is a Norwegian based company that’s changing the game in modified wood decking. This project was one of the first in Austin to use Kebony. The product is considered a modified wood because they take a regular softwood (pine) and use a heat process to modify the cellular structure and stability of the wood. This results in the softwood having the structural stability of a hardwood such as Ipe. Kebony naturally grays like other hardwoods and doesn’t have the warping and cupping of a treated pine deck. Now the homeowners get to enjoy a beautiful custom natural wood deck that’s built to last!
